HAYLEY GOLDENBERG (she/her) is a New York City-based, Toronto-raised and Santa Barbara-born queer feminist musical theatre maker. She is currently developing two musicals: Faye and Plane Girl.
Most recently, Plane Girl was selected for the 2024 New York Theatre Barn Choreography Lab and New Works Series, the 2024 MTEA New Works Collaboration Catalogue, and as the inaugural new musical in the new works development program at Manhattanville University. Other Accolades Include: 35th Annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals (Featured Lyricist) 2023 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project (Selected Participant), National Centre of New Musicals (Semifinalist), New Works New Voices (Semifinalist), Bechdel Project (Semifinalist), Musical Creators’ Institute (Fellow - Inaugural Class), New Bad Ideas Musical Development Program (Finalist), Bravo Academy/New Music Theatre Intensives commissioned songwriter. Hayley’s musical work has been featured on stages and in concert venues across the United States & Canada including New World Stages, 54 Below, Green Room 42 and others.
As a director, Hayley specializes in new musical development and has been a part of bringing several new musicals to the stage at various stages of development. She’s served on the directing team for Helen (with Bonnie Milligan), Spiral Bound (with Laura Benanti and Eva Noblezada), All We Know of Love & Fire, The Baroque Cycle, Perpetual Sunshine and the Ghost Girls (with Kayla Davion) and others. She is also a proud member of Maestra, DGA, and ASCAP and is the co-founder of the Women & Theatre Project.
