Plane Girl at New York Theatre Barn New Works Series
The 17th season of New York Theatre Barn’s award-winning New Works Series concludes on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 7PM ET at the Five Angels Theater in NYC (789 Tenth Avenue – the theatre is located on the 2nd Floor). The presentation will feature excerpts from the new musicals Magia and Plane Girl, as well as a conversation with the writers moderated by Artistic Director Joe Barros and producer Harmony Harris.

New York Theatre Barn will launch the 11th season of its Choreography Lab on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at 7PM ET. Curated by Avital Asuleen, the program’s New Works Lab makes space for 3 choreographers to bring 3 original musicals to life on their feet, often for the first time. The featured musicals are: The Bridge – with book and lyrics by Jay Alan Zimmerman and music by Jackson Talley, Greenwood – with book, music, and lyrics by Ronvé O’Daniel, music and orchestrations by Jevares Myrick and book by J Kyle Manzay, and Plane Girl – with book, music and lyrics by Hayley Goldenberg, Canaan J. Harris, and Julia Sonya Koyfman.

Join them along with some of Broadway’s biggest mensches as we give the festival of lights the songbook it deserves. You’ll want the miraculous, musical magic to last for eight days and beyond!

Hayley had the pleasure of assistant directing Emily Maltby on the Joe’s Pub Performance benefiting Maestra and Open Stage Project.
The song cycle, inspired by the poems of Richard Edelman, is a series of musical vignettes focused on love from the female perspective.
NAMT 35th Annual Festival of New Musicals

Hayley along with collaborator Julia Sonya Koyfman are being showcased as featured lyricists at this year’s NAMT Festival in the Midday Cabarets!
The MIDDAY CABARETS give Festival attendees the chance to listen to short sets of new music in the relaxed Green Room Lounge. During the lunch break on both days, there will be two 20-minute Midday Cabarets, each featuring a different musical creator or team. This year’s Midday Cabaret writers include composers, lyricists and playwrights Ross Baum, Teresa Lotz, Hayley Goldenberg & Julia Sonya Koyfman, and Hope Villanueva & William Yanesh.

Hayley was one of sixteen participants, selected from nearly 200 applicants from around the world, to take part in an intensive week-long program of master classes and workshops led by master teachers Stephen Bray, Craig Carnelia, Lindy Robbins and Autumn Rowe. This year's songwriters, hailing from five countries, including the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and Georgia, will participate in the program, which has been a catalyst to the careers of many artists who have gone on to win top honors in the field including Tony, Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, the Richard Rodgers Award, the Jonathan Larson Award, and more.

Hayley will serve as associate director to Rachel Klein on Death of An Underling, A New Musical by Kit Goldstein Grant at SOUND BITES X, 10th Annual Festival of 10-Minute Musicals. Now in its tenth year, the SOUND BITES Festival of 10-Minute Musicals is a fast-paced evening featuring a diverse lineup of stories and styles from emerging writers.

Hayley joined the team of Perpetual Sunshine & the Ghost Girls at the 34th Annual Festival of New Musicals through the NAMT Festival Observership for Early Career Directors. Featuring an all-women+ cast and an original through-composed 1920-2020s mashup score, Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical Perpetual Sunshine & the Ghost Girls tells the true story of the capitalist exploitation and knowing radium poisoning of workers by the U.S. Radium Corporation—and the women who fought back.

Cabaret on the Couch
The acclaimed online series Cabaret on the Couch kicks off its 2022 programming with an evening of all-new music on Friday, February 25th at 8pm.
This month's show focuses on the inaugural class of the Musical Theater Writers Collective - a group of musical theater's next generation of composers. They've built "a program that balances a dedication to treating writers, directors, and performers as their own unique artists with a commitment to providing a solid framework in the history and present of musical theatre structure and style." Hayley’s work will be featured in a Cabaret of Original Songs at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The evening, produced in conjunction with Telsey casting director Peter Dunn and hosted by Jake McKenna, will feature guest performances by Broadway veteran Julie Schmidt and New York performer/songwriter Taylor Pearlstein. Program director Sam Carner along with Derek Gregor and composition teacher Zina Goldrich (of Goldrich & Heisler) will also share original material.
